Orientation meetings
High school guidance teachers can request guidance meetings dedicated to students in their final years of study, delivered in person or online.
The meetings are held from October to April and provide students with information and tools for an informed choice of the course of study best suited to their inclinations and needs.
Various types of orientation can be requested:
- Information stands: setting up of a dedicated space, with distribution of information materials and the presence of a COSP operator who answers students’ questions, in initiatives involving the participation of various universities.
- Orientation meetings: in class or online, a COSP operator presents the educational offer and services of Milan State University. In addition to promoting knowledge of the university system, degree courses and admission criteria, the meetings are an opportunity to obtain support in choosing one’s study path.
- Meetings to present specific areas or courses of study, in person or online, held by university lecturers and aimed at informing students about individual areas of study or specific degree courses.

Transversal skills and orientation pathways and PNRR pathways
Our COSP Inbound Orientation Office manages and coordinates the PCTOs (formerly Alternanza scuola-lavoro) offered at university level at administrative facilities and laboratories, with a view to orientation.
Since the academic and school year 2022/2023, PCTO activities have been included in the activities proposed to schools as an active orientation action in the school-university transition of the PNRR (as per Ministerial Decree 934, 3 August 2022 and Directorial Decree 1452, 22 September 2022).
The hours carried out by students in PNRR projects can be recognised as PCTO.
What is the active guidance action in the PNRR school-university transition?
It is an action that aims to facilitate and encourage the transition from upper secondary school to university and to reduce the number of university drop-outs, thus helping to increase the number of graduates in Italy.
How?
By having third, fourth and fifth-grade students participate in 15-hour courses to help them consolidate reflective and transversal skills, to familiarise them with the context of higher education, to inform them about the various educational proposals, to give them experience in active teaching and to enable them to self-assess their knowledge.
How does one participate in the courses?
Enrolment takes place through a reference teacher at your school, who makes contact with the COSP and enrols interested students following the procedures.
